Ingrid Wehr studied political science at the universities of Würzburg, Sacramento (USA) and Freiburg and received her PhD degree in 1995. Her research focuses on German and European development policy, development theory, social inequality in its various dimensions, welfare regimes and social reforms in Latin America, welfare state theory and social policies.
She is a professor of Development Studies at the Arnold-Bergstraesser-Institute, which specializes on development policy and theory, and on comparative research on Asia, Latin America and Africa. She also works as an associated professor at various departments of the University of Freiburg, the Faculty of Social Sciences (FACSO) of the Universidad de Chile and as a research fellow at the DesiguALdades.net of the Freie Universität in Berlin. www.desigualdades.net
